Mission Statement

The Mission of the New Horizons Musical Organization of the Lakes Region is to promote “music for life” by creating performance band opportunities for mature adult musicians who seek to make beautiful music together for the enjoyment of members and audiences alike. 

Who We Are

If you once played a band instrument but haven't done so for awhile, or if you ever wanted to learn an instrument but didn't have an opportunity, this is the place for you! 

Most New Horizons Band members either have no musical experience or perhaps played an instrument when they were younger but have not done so for a number of years. A few never stopped playing but want more performance opportunities with a great, spirited band.  

The New Horizons Musical Organization of the Lakes Region provides band instrument instructions, rehearsals, performances, and related activities in a relaxed, supportive environment that maximizes musicians’ abilities and talents. 

New Horizons Band is geared for musicians who are over age 45, although younger performers may join the band on an as-needed basis. 

We give concerts in many venues to bring music to the lives of musicians and their audiences.   Performances are in the 15 towns comprising the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire, just south of the majestic White Mountains.

New Horizons International Music Association

New Horizons Musical Organization of the Lakes Region is affiliated with the New Horizons International Music Association which boasts over 170 New Horizons bands, orchestras and choruses worldwide, and provides musical opportunities to over 8,000 adult and senior musician members.   The international association sponsors  camps and other opportunities for musicians to grow and learn in their music-making.
